Mark your calendars, motorheads! The roar of engines and the thrill of competition return as the South African Short Circuit Series (SASCS) revs up for an electrifying 2024 season!
Ever dreamed of feeling the wind in your hair and the thrill of speed as you race around a track? SASCS welcomes riders of all skill levels and ages to experience the excitement of motorcycle racing in a supportive and inclusive environment. No matter if you're a complete beginner eager to take your first tentative steps on the track, or a seasoned rider looking to hone your skills and compete against others, SASCS offers a class for you.

Here's a taste of what awaits:

• Development and beyond: The PW50 class allows riders of 4 years and up to refine their handling skills on standard Yamaha PW 50s. The Clubman’s class offers an inclusive entry point to short circuit racing with open bike types (max 450cc, 2 cylinders) and all tire choices for honing skills and experiencing the thrill of competition.
• Newcomers and experienced riders: Join the 150 Cup and 150 Seniors for a racing experience (Age: 12+ years and 16+ years respectively). These classes use a 4-stroke and are ideal for anyone wanting to have fun and test their skills.
• Young riders (age 6-15): Start your Supermoto racing journey with the SM Junior classes, featuring progressively powerful and lightweight bikes (50, 65 and 85cc) perfect for learning the ropes.
• Seek the ultimate challenge: For experienced riders looking for an adrenaline rush, the SM 1, SM 1s and SM 2 classes offer the opportunity to compete on powerful machines 450cc Supermoto bikes. While seasoned competitors can showcase their experience in the SM Masters and Grand Masters classes (age 40-49 and 50+ respectively).

Ready to take the plunge? Here's what you need to know:

• Get your racing license: To participate, you'll need a valid racing license from Motorsport South Africa (MSA). Don't worry, they offer convenient licensing options to suit your needs, including a Social Day Licence (R150) for trying out the sport or a Social Year Licence (R460) for year-round participation.
• Gear up for safety: SASCS prioritizes safety on the track. All participants must wear full safety gear, including a helmet, leathers, gloves, and boots. Contact us if you need help with the correct gear.
• Ride a safe bike: Ensure your motorcycle is in top condition and complies with the series regulations for your chosen class.
